Premier League team news and odds: verify the sequence
Put lineups and bookmaker quotes on a dated match timeline without assuming causation.
Confirm the match
Start with the Premier League fixture list for the two clubs and UK kickoff. For a lineup claim, use a dated club or league source and distinguish a predicted XI from a confirmed XI. Keep the publication time and time zone in the article; a source updated after kickoff cannot describe what was known before it.
Record the market consistently
To describe a price change, save two quotes from the same bookmaker, fixture, 1X2 outcome or exact goals line, and full-time period. A draw quote before team news cannot be compared with a home-win quote after it. If a market was suspended for part of the interval, say so instead of drawing a straight price line through missing data.
Avoid unsupported explanations
A price move after confirmed team news may have several causes. Report the observation and the sourced lineup fact separately. The live comparison board shows a current snapshot; it cannot by itself prove an opening price or a response to a particular player.
Worked example
Illustration: Book A's home-win price is 2.10 at 13:00 UK time and 2.02 at 15:00. A confirmed lineup is published at 14:00. The price shortened by 0.08 in decimal odds; the timing alone does not prove the lineup caused it.
