Over 2.5 versus over 3.5 Premier League goals
A higher payout at a different total is a different football bet, not a better price on the original over.
Define the total
Over 2.5 full-time goals wins when the match finishes with at least three goals. Over 3.5 requires at least four. At exactly three goals, the first wins and the second loses. Confirm the bookmaker's market period and settlement terms, because a first-half total is not the full-time total.
Compare exact sides and numbers
For one Premier League fixture, rank over 2.5 at Book A only against over 2.5 at other books. Under 2.5 is the other side, and over 3.5 belongs in a separate row. A higher decimal payout on over 3.5 reflects a harder result threshold and cannot be a best-price badge for over 2.5.
Check the current fixture
Use the official matchweek fixture to confirm clubs and kickoff. A rescheduled match or another meeting between the same clubs is a distinct event. Record capture times and verify the current quote at the bookmaker, as both the line and payout can change before kickoff.
Worked example
Illustration: over 2.5 at 1.80 wins on a 2–1 result. Over 3.5 at 2.10 loses on the same score. On 3–1 both win, but the two prices still represent different selections.
