What a Premier League best-price badge means
Read the badge as a same-selection comparison within the bookmakers listed in one snapshot.
One result, one market
For a 1X2 row, the badge compares the same home win, draw or away win on the same fixture and full-time market. It should not compare the home win with a double-chance selection or draw no bet. For an over/under row, both the side and goals number must match as well.
The badge has a boundary
The highest displayed decimal price is the best listed payout among the comparable bookmakers in that source snapshot. It is not a claim that the bookmaker is best for all football bets or available to every visitor. A single listed quote cannot support a cross-book badge; show the number of comparable books alongside the price.
Finish at the bookmaker
The table can lag a live market or miss a suspended quote. Check the capture time, market rules, account eligibility and current bookmaker screen. A better price does not establish that an outcome is likely or profitable; it only changes the return if the matched selection wins.
Worked example
Illustration: a full-time draw is 3.40 at Book A and 3.55 at Book B. Book B has the better listed draw payout for that fixture and snapshot. A 3.60 draw-no-bet-related quote is excluded because it settles differently.
Illustrative numbers for explaining the calculation. They are not current bookmaker quotes.
Sources and method
Bookmakers and prices are hypothetical. The badge definition applies only to identical market selections in the shown snapshot; no current bookmaker is endorsed.
